What comes off an Etsy Canada sale
For a Canadian shop, Etsy usually takes a 6.5% transaction fee on item price plus shipping, payment processing (3% + $0.25 CAD for Canada or US buyers, 4% + $0.25 CAD for other buyers), and a regulatory operating fee of 0.50% on the same base. A $0.20 USD listing fee also applies per listing (often per sale when quantity auto-renews).
Offsite Ads, when they apply, add 15% or 12% of that base, capped at $100 per order. Buyer tax and gift wrap are not in this page’s estimates.
The regulatory fee after 31 Mar 2026
Effective 31 Mar 2026, Etsy reduced the Canadian regulatory operating fee from 1.15% to 0.50%. That cut is Canada-specific. Other markets had separate regulatory updates on 22 Jun 2026. Do not mix those dates.
Still charged. The fee did not disappear. At 0.50% it is smaller, but it still lands on every qualifying order. This calculator uses the 0.50% rate.
